Musiqa is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the performance of contemporary classical music. Founded in 2002, Musiqa’s mission is to enrich and inspire our community through programs that integrate contemporary music with other art-forms. Through interdisciplinary collaborations and educational programming, Musiqa makes modern repertoire accessible and vital to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Each season, Musiqa provides at least seven public performances – four as part of our Music+ Concert Series performed at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Zilkha Hall and the Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston and three as part of our free Loft Concert Series at the Contemporary Art Museum Houston.

Musiqa’s nationally acclaimed Education Program is one of the largest of its kind in the nation for an ensemble our size. Every year we present two productions—“Around the World with Musiqa” and “Musiqa ReMix”—in partnership with the Hobby Center for Performing Arts’ Discovery Series. We reach over 6,000 school children in grades 2 through 8, from 60 different schools in eight school systems, in Greater Houston. Since its founding, Musiqa has served over 50,000 students from over 230 schools in the region.
